I finally retrieved the boat this afternoon from my friends’ boathouse on Lake Stevens, where it had been for a few weeks after I had brakes added to my trailer. I took a few spins around the lake with them. What a gorgeous February day!
I also had my first encounter with a Fish and Wildlife officer, who was hanging around at the boat launch. He was super friendly, and even though I wasn’t fishing he checked all my required documents and safety equipment. Fortunately everything was in order, and we had a cordial conversation about aquatic invasive species.
With my boat back on the trailer, I managed to park it straight in my garage on the second try, my all-time best performance in the boat trailering Olympics.
