Another high speed boat video? Not exactly… The forecast called for yesterday to be the sunniest day of the week, so I decided to skip my fitness class and take advantage of the long days with a rare solo weeknight boat trip. It actually turned out to be the cloudiest day of the week, but anyway… I decided to go to Lake Stevens and do some testing and break-in on my new kicker motor. I’m still looking for a good solution to steer it from the helm, but in the meantime I bought one of the cheapest and most useful things I’ve ever bought for my boat, a long tiller handle extender. It allowed me to stand behind the driver’s seat at least instead of in the back corner of the boat.
Another docking experience was ruined by rude, selfish jetski people, who were making huge wakes right in front of the boat launch. This made my inexperienced docking very stressful. When I asked them to stop, they responded by making big, fast donuts just outside the “No Wake” buoy, which sent even bigger waves to crash my Whaler against the dock. I will never understand the mentality of such people.
