I hereby declare the 2022 boating season to be open. Never mind that the Seattle Yacht Club thinks it starts on May 2nd. It’s been slightly over a year since I first ordered my boat, so this is actually a day I’ve been waiting for for a long time. I took some friends for a leisurely cruise from Magnuson Park through the ship canal almost to the Ballard Locks, then back again. We got to experience the world that only Seattle boaters know, and landlubbers can only imagine. We didn’t mind the chill too much, but we were sure happy when the sun finally came out halfway through the trip.
